The Buck Stop Meat Store
The Buck Stop Meat Store is locally owned and operated by Brian Alexander. They specialize in deer processing, the sale of a variety of fresh meat and tasty homemade goods.
Brian purchased the 2,700 sq foot business in June 2025 from David Menotti, Sr., who had owned the business for 16 years. The former owner said that he is going to hang around as one of the friendly seven member staff to help. Brian is not new to the food business as he is also the owner of Chefs, a local diner located directly in front of The Buck Stop on Hwy 425 North in Monticello. The Buck Stop is touted as having the “freshest meat in town” by its customers.

In the Buck Stop Meat Store, you will find every cut of the freshest meats imaginable. They offer beef ribeye cut to specified thickness, chops, stuffed chops, prime rib, both pork and boudin sausage, bacon, and shrimp. Crawfish are also available when in season. Not only do they offer the perfect seasoning for your purchase, but the friendly staff can also provide useful cooking tips to make your selection the perfect meal.
The various homemade items are oh so very tempting. The homemade items such as spaghetti sauce, bread, a variety of pies, ice cream, summer sausage, brats and casseroles remind you that it’s time to eat.
Check out their Lucky Buck minerals, livestock feed, feed blocks and corn while you are in the store.
The Buck Stop is found at 822 Barkada Road in Monticello and is open Tuesday -Friday 9 am – 6 pm and Saturday 9 am to 4 pm. Tuesday through Friday from 9 am to 6 pm and
