With the University of Arkansas at Monticello and two award winning public schools, Monticello is a prime location for the pursuit of educational goals. Accredited by the North Central Association, with modern facilities for grades K - 12, both public school districts adhere to strict state guidelines for student/teacher ratios, and students consistently score above the state average on standardized tests.

Public Schools

Five campuses in the Monticello School District serve over 2,100 students with 175 certified faculty and 75 additional staff members.

The fifth largest area school district in the state with 587 square miles, Drew Central School District serves over 1200 students with 83 certified faculty and staff on one campus that houses all grade levels.

As part of the Monticello School District, the Occupational Education Center provides high school students of both districts with ahead start on their futures by presenting challenges to their individual intellects. The OEC provides opportunities for students to train and develop marketable skills in a variety of areas such as welding, building trades, medical professions and metal trades.
